Booster pull odds

Each slot is an independent draw. A slot that appears three times is three chances. The headline is the chance of at least one named outcome across the packs you open.

Two different kinds of odds

A booster is easier to think of as slots. Commons, uncommons, and a rare slot each happen whether or not the others did. Give a slot a count if the pack has several copies of it. Name the outcome you care about, say how many packs you will open, and the page reports the chance of at least that many hits, the chance of exactly that many, and the expected count.

A deck is the opposite. Drawing a card removes it. The hand calculator uses that. Presets cover a 60-card deck with four copies and a 99-card singleton. Change the numbers if your format draws more than seven, or if you are asking about the top ten cards rather than the opening hand.

The tally is a paper list with a sum. It will not tell you what a card sold for last week. That is deliberate: a price feed is a paid API, and this page is meant to stay free to run.

Questions worth asking first

How is a pack modeled?

Each slot is independent. If a rare slot is 5% ultra rare and it appears once, a pack has a 5% chance. Two slots that can both hit are combined so you are not double-counting a miss. Then the packs follow a binomial count.

Why is the hand calculator different?

A deck does not put cards back. That is a hypergeometric draw: deck size, copies, cards seen, and how many hits you care about. A 99-card deck with one copy in a hand of seven is 7/99.

Where do the prices come from?

From you. There is no market feed. The total is quantity times the price you typed, plus one shipping line.
